Sea cucumber poop
Shown below are two different species of sea cucumbers and their poop. Sea cucumbers are detritus feeders, so their poop consists mostly of sand. The sea cucmber below has extended the front part of its body out from under a rock, and is feeding. Next to it is a white, beaded object: its poop. These sea cucumber photographs were taken by Brenna Lorenz. The fat sea cucumber below (left) produces a pretty, coiled, crenulated poop rosette (right) that people always pick up when they find it, because it's pretty and doesn't look like poop.
